My Journey

Hi everyone, I’m Vanshika Patel - the hands and face behind Crafted by Sky. I’m 21 years old and based in Ahmedabad and my journey into the world of handmade art started during my college holidays. What began as a simple curiosity soon turned into a passion that has completely shaped my life today. Initially, I started learning embroidery just to explore something creative and productive in my free time. However, everything changed when one of my friends suggested that I try crochet. That suggestion became a turning point for me.

I began learning crochet with the help of my grandmother, who patiently guided me through the basics, along with online resources that helped me improve my skills step by step. My first crochet project was a scarf that I made for a friend. Although I completed it with a lot of effort, I wasn’t fully satisfied with the result. Instead of giving up, I challenged myself to do better and made it again. The second time, it turned out exactly how I had imagined- neat, beautiful, and something I felt proud of. That moment gave me a huge boost of confidence.

After that, I started creating small crochet roses and once again, I was amazed at how beautiful they turned out. Slowly, I began gifting my handmade creations to my friends while continuously practicing and improving my skills. With time, I realized that I truly loved what I was doing and it wasn’t just a hobby anymore ,it was something much bigger.

While scrolling through Instagram, I noticed many creators selling crochet products, which inspired me to start my own page. On 2nd August 2025, I finally created my account and uploaded pictures of the items I had made during my holidays. To my surprise, on the very first day itself, I received more than 10 orders. That moment was incredibly special for me, as it gave me the confidence to believe in my work and encouraged me to keep going.

Since then, I have been consistently posting and sharing my creations. Today, I have shared more than 150 posts and have successfully completed over 300 orders. One of the biggest milestones in my journey was organising my very first crochet exhibition, where I received an overwhelming and heartwarming response from people. It truly meant a lot to me and reassured me that I was on the right path.

I feel deeply grateful to my parents, family and friends who have always believed in me and supported me throughout this journey. Their encouragement has been my biggest strength. I also feel thankful to each and every customer who has trusted my work. I always try to understand their preferences and customize products according to their choices, ensuring that they receive something special and meaningful.

Recently, one of my reels reached over 3.5 million views, and my follower count suddenly grew from 313 to over 1,000. That moment was surreal and showed me the power of consistency and passion. With growing concerns about online scams, many people suggested that I create a website to make my business more trustworthy and accessible. So, I’m happy to share that I now have a reliable platform where you can explore and shop my creations.
